Just trying to put together a list. E.g. Francois Truffaut's 400 Blows has the father of the protagonist involved in a rally club.

Seems like Jackie Chan was driving a rally car in one of his early movies, a Mitsu maybe?

"Who Am I" features a Evo IV, but not a rally car per se: Here if sony didn't block it :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKif_tvBsyI

That car, in that movie, is one of the two main reasons I ever got into Rally. The other being a trip to Europe with my parents in high school where I found a rally mag in Germany with a huge pictorial of Colin's car after winning the WRC in 1995, didn't understand a word, didn't need to, I was hooked.

His car in Cannonball run was pretty cool, what was that?

Just watched that with wifey dearest..

Shirely you must recall Un homme et une femme from '65 and Un Homme et une Femme, 20 Ans Déjà from curiously, vingt ans déjà?

le premiere features recurrent imagines of Alpes SSs and a Ford Mustang, before they became fat, gross, wide, bloated things. Probably a follow up to the Falcons from just a bit earlier..
The French have always had a special affection for everything 'ricain

Might as well. I remember a C.H.I.P.S. episode where Eric Estrada was doing a desert race. And I pretty sure his partner - the blond guy - had a Mini. It was a subplot involving a BMX kid IIRC.

One of the French "Taxi" movies had a scene where they enter a stage while a race is going and a reference to Kankunen or Vatanen is made.
Although not exactly rally related one of the best car chase series had to be the British series-The Professionals that had plenty of proper cars like Escorts,Capris, Granadas etc...

pas l'allemand, mais le danois ou norvégien ..

German does not have ø and å, but Danish and Norwegian do..And it's not Swedish because Swedish has ö (the same as German) instead of ø
All the Nordic languages share ĂĄ......not found in German.

Hilarious film and as far as I know, the first time in France that a lead was played by somebody of Arabic ancestry. Good for Luc Besson!

How about a TV series by the title The Protectors. Robert Vaughn was the head of a private crime fighting company. One episode had the 'team' borrowing a file, copy and replace it. Vaughn had to get from point A to B to intercept and replace the file. The teams gadget man used a Ford Escort rally car with Vaughn strapped in the co-drivers seat. Some very good footage of the car.

One of my favorites with rally car content has to be an old, goofy and badly acted 1974 movie called "watch out we are mad". Appearing Terrence Hill & Bud Spencer mostly known for doing spaghetti westerns. These two guys lose a Dune Buggy to some local mafia guys so.. "they get mad" and take a caged Ford Escort Mk1 and run it through the mafias club destroying everything in it. Here si the clip form that movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8wrmUtWIVM
