Here are my thoughts about sponsorship value.
According to Yokohama my teams have NO value for them. They only sponsoring drivers.

Rally is a TEAM sport!
Organizers of Canadian Championship Events are working in TEAMS!

My car recently is on display in Toronto Auto Show. Last year this show visited 295000 people. I did not removed Yokohama decal from windshield because I want to demonstrate to Yokohama and CARS office my respect to Canadian Championship and all teams participating in it.

RE: Toronto Auto Show

The Prius looked very nice in the Toyota display at the Toronto Auto Show. It probably had the highest profile position of any of the 12(!) rally cars on display. However, one of my friends who is an experienced race driver thaought it had to be a show car because the paint and finish was too good to be a competition car ;-).

For reference, the rally cars I saw at the show:

1. Prius - Toyota booth
2. Ford Focus (show car) - Ford booth
3. Ford Focus (Reilly/Felice) - PRN/RallySport Ontario booth
4. Mitsubishi Evolution 4/6 (Sprongl) - PRN/RallySport Ontario booth
5. Mitsubishi Evolution IV (ACP) - Inside Track(?) booth
6. Subaru WRX Wagon (Paynter) - in its own little booth
7. Datsun 510 (Kammer) - Targa Newfoundland booth
8. Volvo 142? (Mepham) - Targa Newfoundland booth
9. Ford Falcon (McGeer/Williams) - Targa Newfoundland booth
10. Acadian(?) (Buchanan) - Targa Newfoundland booth
11. Healy - Targa Newfoundland booth
12. 280Z(?) - Targa Newfoundland booth

The Targa Nefoundland seemed to be getting a lot of interest.

There were also a lot of race cars, including:

3 LMP Panoz roadsters
GTS Corvette
Frisbee
Indycar (ex JV Sr.)
LMP Audi
Mercedes W196 streamliner
Maserati 250F
...

In all a good show for a racing enthusiast.

Not to go off topic but Adrian, you mentioned every race car at the Toronto, Canada Auto Show except for the only completely Canadian designed and built race car.
The Multimatic Ford Focus Daytona Prototype.
Just incase you didn?t know they came in 1st in their class at the 24 hours of Daytona this year.
I know it?s not a rally car but it is an important part of Canadian racing.

Except, of course, for the Roush motor...

>The Multimatic Ford Focus Daytona Prototype.

Actually, that was an oversight... I know Scott Maxwell quite well, and wouldn't have intentionally left that car out. But I didn't mention all the race cars by a long shot:

Race prepped (old) Mini
Tans-Am (original) Mustang
Firehawk Camaro
Barber Dodge
various show CART and F1 cars
plus lots more...

Adrian

BTW. The Mercedes was worth drooling over more than once...

RSO was tucked back behind the Skid Control School and a garage oranization booth, just outside the doors that led to the Mosport/ALMS display.

You probably walked right past the Paynters' car without noticing it - I almost did. It was on the upper level of the Skydome, not far from ACPs car, but tucked in a corner.
