I've never done a pro rally so I don't know if they are used over here, but what do the yellow disks indicate on the side of WRC stages? I know the red ones are the finish, so I assume yellow ones are some sort of split-time marker or something?

Yellow marker boards are used for a mumber of things:

1. There is a yellow warning board about 100m before the red finish board.

2. There is a yellow warning board about 100m before the blue radio/medical board (this can be in the middle of a stage). This is to indicate the location of radio or medical people.

3. A start control will have a yellow board to mark the start of the control zone.

Basically, the yellow board is a warning board for some other type of board.

I assume you mean the yellow clock signs.
It tells you to get ready for the finish.
