If you search hard enough in the SS Archives, you'll find complaints about having Ralph Sheheen voice the US rally TV shows. The main complaint was that he was too American sounding.
First of all, we had rally TV shows and people still complained about them!?!??
Today, this was posted at National Speed Sport News:

The Cliff Notes Version for slackers is that Ralph was hired by the Austrailians (SX Global) to voice the FIM Motocross World Championship (WSX).

So many ralliests come in, think they are hot shit, with a hot shit car, expect hoity toity coverage, then find out that they are beaten like a stepchild by stock rabbits and toyotas. Diversion tactics end up with something else to bitch about, so they find perhaps, the broadcast of rallying to be too low brow with American accents, and don't justify the two years spent spending money in rallying, then getting out with their tail or dick between their legs. So what else is new? Sure would be nice to watch some nicely produced programs, perhaps a 20-30 minute wrap up of an event that covers other than just the first 4-5 cars. I would not care who is announcing, but if the product is good, with real human interest stories, not tik tok look at me, that would be a nice change.
