I went to the Silverstone Black Bear Rally north of Toronto Saturday and I expected to see more of the Club guys who said they'd have to go to Canada to compete.
All I can say is you missed a fine way to spend a day in the woods.
Even the black flies stayed away!

I was surprised to see that too. The only Canadian who ran at PFR and also at Bear was Peter Reilly, so the tight 3000km transit was too fast a CAS for some of us. But the absence of US guys for a cheap event with great atmosphere and copious champagne, a great road and pace notes kind of baffled me too.

Don't forget Scott Commens / Sandy Hygate, they ran PFR and Black Bear in the same week as well. Pete left Merritt B.C. on Saturday afternoon, Scott didn't leave until Sunday morning.
