..You mean, like semi-permanently sideways in an old Escort on 12-hour stage days, being chased by a gaggle of snarling 911s and leaping Datsuns?
Stig hanging on by his fingernails, being hounded by guys you never heard of. Not far back, Waldegard and Kankunnen in full cry pursuit. Dirt. Dust. Busted cars limping as fast as they can go. Epic mudholes and a myriad of other unknown dangers. Crazy sh*t happening.
Absolutely HUGE budgets, too. Jens, have you priced Escort or 911 spares airfreighted to Africa lately?}(
Excellent stuff, whatever it costs and however they make it happen.
Damn am I glad that real rallying isn't what we have here. With $7000 to 22,000 US dollar entry fees I'm damn glad. Though the event looks like it'd be alot of fun and the endurance aspect is there, but unfortunately, what you consider to be real rallying (and the acts they perform are definitely what rally can trace it's roots to) is now reserved for only the upper eschelon of society and the super rich.
