As a CARS-legal production car, it would run in Production - SCCA rules 10.2.C.28. You can download a PDF of the SCCA rules to check any specific extra requirements. You might need to upgrade the First Aid kit, carry a spill kit, etc... You will need to run the SCCA identification package.

I thought the '03 rules allowed seam welding in P/PGT?

I was under that impression, but the wording of the rules hasn't changed. For the eligibility of a CARS P2 car to run in Production its irrelevant, though.
