"American Rally Sport Group is pleased to confirm OLN's first one-hour broadcast of the Ramada Express International Rally 2001 on Sunday, October 13 at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time," announced Roger Allison, ARSG president. Outdoor Life Network reaches more than fifty-two million homes in Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, and is also broadcast to all American Military bases. OLN, recognized for its quality presentations, received two Emmy awards for its Adventure Quest series.

"I feel OLN is a dynamic broadcast company with a positive outlook on rallying in the United States and across North America. ARSG is pleased to be part of their focus on outdoor Action Sports," commented Ray Hocker, production editor of the 2001 Ramada Express International Rally and ARSG vice-president. "Rallying is a unique motor sport and appeals to car enthusiasts with a great spirit of adventure. Rally competition is concentrated over wilderness roads or out-of-the-way pathways during all kinds of weather conditions, and I feel our events will fit well with OLN?s line up for 2002 and 2003."

American Rally Sport Group Rally USA, recognized for its enterprising approach to motor sports competition, created and developed three unique events: the FIA-listed Ramada Express International Rally, now in its fifth year, the Magellan presents JAOS Adventure Rally, a GPS-navigation event in its third year, and the dynamic American SuperStage® dual-course competition format. Event road courses take competitors through Nevada and into northwestern Arizona to the scenic Land of the Hualapai Indian along the western Grand Canyon. The events are headquartered at the Ramada Express Hotel-Casino in Laughlin, Nevada each December.

A more complete listing OLN's schedule will be available on their website at www.olntv.com. OLN can also be contacted by email through "feedback" on their website.

Rally event information and entry are available www.RallyUSA.com.

What happened?

So I'm really enjoying the Ramada Express Rally on TV, with VCR running to capture all the action again (even though I bought a copy of the tape from RallyUSA already.) We get to the high dramatic moment--will Diggins car restart in time for the final two runs of the SuperSpecial?

The network cuts to a commercial, then switches "RV Today".

What happened? I want to see the rest? Lots of my non-rally friends were watching and they didn't get to see the ending either?

Is there someone we can contact to ask them for a full showing again? I hate to see Ray and Roger's incredible event get short-sheeted like that. The new viewers are left wondering--who won?

How can I help?

RE: What happened?

I was a little bummed out about that, too. I thought I just wasn't paying attention, but I guess I'm not the only one who noticed. You tell 'em John!

RE: What happened?

I noticed it too..I was hoping that it was a long commercial for what was coming up next and it did not happen! I say OLN put in too many commericials and not enought time to get about two more mintues in for rest of the tape.
It is supposed to be shown again Thursday on OLN at 5pm Eastern Standard Time...hopefully it will not cut off the last several minutes. We will see!

RE: What happened?

At least the adds were more and with more variety than a
typical SCCA ProRally telecast. Are a few companies
beginning to use rally to sell their products?

Rebroadcast: Thur 6 PM EST

I called my local cable company (Adelphia) and left a message about the message. (They're closed Sundays.)

I also sent feedback to OLN and received this response.

John, The Ramada Rally will air this Thursday, 10/17 at 6:00pm ET....

As regards the variety of commercials, while I'd like to think it was because of the rally, it's probably just part of their regular action sports lineup of sponsors. They're new to us because we're addicted to Speed.

Doublecheck on that time since the OLN website said 5pm yesterday, not unless they have changed the time and line-up John since you got the message.

Problem with Sunday Showing

I spoke to OLN this morning. It seems there was an error made in their programming department that caused the accidental loss of the final 3 minutes of the show.

They will be re-airing the show two additional times to make up for this accident.

Sorry for the problem... now you'll just have to watch it again to see what happened!

RE: Problem with Sunday Showing

I had my TIVO search for RALLY and it came up with a 2:00am EST broadcast of it the morning of the 18th. So we shall see when it really is on. According to the online OLN schedule it is scheduled for 6:00pm still on the 17th.

Not too surprised about the change-up.......wondered how it looked as my cable dudes don't give us OLN (unless, maybe if you opt for the "digital" service.......I haven't seen any benefit yet to 150 or whatever audio channels....already paying too much for cable plus broadband!)
bummer to miss it.....

cheers!:)
