Almost lost the mention of Performance Rally in the hoopla, but any mention is good. One or two bad facts, but nothing fatal.

Pastrana to WRC? I doubt it.

Dick:

Why not?

All he needs is seat time and good mentoring.

He is probably ready to test the waters in the PWRC next year.

After watching him today at the X-games, I think that rallying must seem to him like a walk in the park.

I could envisage the possibility of Travis having a factory WRC ride sometime in the next five years.

Well, first off, surely his co-driver is like an anchor around his neck ;)

Actually, what's the "highest" level you've co-driven at, Edstrom?

Maybe, maybe not... weren't Tim ONeil & his school the subject of a Times article 3 or 4 years ago - it probably mentions rally, too....

There have been few articles in the Times that mention Tim and the school. One about a couple of things (other than Tim's) and Tim's School: [a href="http://www.teamoneil.com/press16.htm"]NY Times October 6, 2000[/a]. Another was an article they did with Tim "test driving" the WRX when it came out: [a href="http://www.teamoneil.com/press7.htm"]NY Times - June 17, 2001[/a]

I've done the US and Canadian national championships.

I had an offer of a ride in PWRC 2003 in return for a small contribution, but I wasn't in a work situation with enough time off to take advantage. And I got a free offer to do Mexico in a Gr.N car in 2004, but (again) I had to work.

Tip to young co-drivers: take a job where you can take a week off on 3 days notice, and you'll never want for rides...

What happened to Travis in that super cross (?? the one where they race on dirt and pavement?) race? He finished 17th or something in an hour long race around a cool course that went in and out of the stadium.

When Petter Solberg was Disco Dancing Champion in Finland and talked about doing the WRC I'm sure there were doubters too!

SuperMoto. I think the guys who are in even better cardiovascular shape from running outdoor Motocross season just ran away with it. Still, with a gold and a silver, he had a more productive weekend than I did. (Cycling and napping, thanks for asking...)

Norway. Petter was the Norwegian dancin' champ!
