So, greater collective wisdom out there. Who has advice on how to keep the little buggers off your body? Anything work better than insect repellant with DEET?

Leslie - you used to be the queen of Lyme didn't you?

Anyone?

press on,

Wear clothing tucked in or use rubberbands around sleave ends/pant's end.
Wear a hat with a brim all around.
Don't walk through or stand in tall grass.
Occasionally check shoes and clothing.
Wear light colors without patterns so that ticks stand out on them.

Pull off the tick with tweezers and soak the critter in rubbing alcohol. If you do get one, make sure you get the entire "snout" out or the skin area becomes infected. I've pulled ticks out of some weird places after a few Headwaters events, but I'll stop right there.

This stuff does work great but it does not work at all when applied to skin. For skin use something with the highest level of DEET you can find.
