The 2wd Quebec Cup championship presented by DMS North America

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that DMS North America annonced today an agreement has been reached with Rally Sport Quebec concerning the 2 wheel drive championship series for 2004 and 2005.

DMS North America is already contributing heavily to the SCCA Contingency program through out the United States as well as the sponsorship of three teams throughout the country. Gary Sheean in USTC Touring Championship, Andrew Comrie-Picard who is competeting for the CARS title, and Julien Pilon is defending his North American PGT Championship. For the 2004 season we will be sponsoring heavily at the regional level. We believe it is very important for Rallying in North America, specifically in Quebec to do what we can to encourage new faces, and bring the competition to the next level.

There are several quebec drivers that have the talent and potential to suceed in the sport, and hopefully with our support, these young drivers willbe given the chance to make there mark in the sport, and help the organisation grow at the same time.

We are very certain that the Quebec Cup will achieve its goals that have been set forward not just by increased participation, but also throughout it?s development in general. We have decided to use a somewhat different strategy to promote the series here in quebec when compared to the National and SCCA organizations.

The guidelines for the Quebec Cup Championship represent a very good intiative to help develop new and up and coming teams . We are hoping as well that our participation and interest in the series will help intice other sponsors to follow in our steps. We already have other prospects on the horizon, more details to come later.

DMS North America will be boasting an investment between 17500$ and 20,000$ for the series. Details are as follows :

DMS North America operated by Lachute Subaru, will offer to the winner of the 2004 season champion a choice between a 3500$ cheque, or a set of DMS 50mm Gravel Giant Struts for their Rally Car for a value of 4500.00$.

As in 2004, DMS North America, will offer to the winner of the 2005 season champion a choice between a 3500$ cheque, or a set of DMS 50mm Gravel Giant Struts for their Rally Car for a value of 4500.00$.

A rebate of 500$ CAD on a set of competition DMS 50mm and / or 350$ rebate on a set of DMS 40mm struts for street use. This is conditional that the purchaser hold a valid RSQ license and has competed in at least one RSQ sanctioned rally throughout the season. If the rally has not yet been raced, a credit will be mailed upon completion of competitors 1st event. Each license holder is limited to 2 car sets (50mm or 40mm) This rebate is valid for the entire 2004 and 2005 seasons as well as the remainder of the 2003 season.

A discount of 15% on all labor and parts for DMS suspension including, all repairs as well as replacement parts providing a valip RSQ license is presented and at least 1 event throughout the season has been completed. This is in effect for the remainder of the 2003 season, as well as the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

DMS North America and Lachute Subaru would like to wish all competitors best of luck for the remainder of 2003, and we hope to see you all again in 2004, and 2005 !!! Congradulations to David Legault for his 2003 championship win !

Ok, Here's a brief resume of the chart.

2004---2004---2004
Minimum length: 80km
Maximum length: 140km
One day event only (24 hour timerange, so event like Defi is ok (friday night stage and saturday stages)

Classes:
Production: P1-P2-P3 (normally aspirated, no AWD). So 2L or less (sorry paddy!)
Modified: Gr2 (normally aspirated, no awd) So 2L or less also

For the studded tires, it was a test in 2003 and without any engagement for other years, so don't know about this for 2004

Course note (available at Draveur a few weeks ago) was also experimental and no word on this for 2004.

2005---2005---2005
Minimum length: 80km
Maximum length: 140km
One day event only (24 hour timerange, so event like Defi is ok (friday night stage and saturday stages)

Classes:
Production: Only one classes for all normally aspirated, no awd, 2L or less production cars
Modified: Limited Gr2 (no turbo, no awd, no dog box, regular fuel (94 octane or less, no composite material) So 2L or less also

For the studded tires and course notes, same has 2004

I think that it!!

If the Modified is truly Gp2, then the limit is actually 2400cc (with modifiers) rather than 2L. This means 2086cc for 4 valves per cylinder or 2400 for 2 valves per cylinder.
