Yes, it was in Canada, but there should have been far more teams from the U.S. The organization was spectacular, the local communities amazingly supportive, and there were THOUSANDS of spectators.

There were more people on one stage at T.N. than at some ProRallies. And the racing was through the streets, literally.

If you run only ONE rally in your life, it should be Targa Newfoundland. It puts other events like One Lap of America, the Alcan Rally and La Carrera Panamericana to shame. They are sandlot games compared to the big league.

- I hear it was a great event. All came together in a recond time, too. Mr Mepham took his Volvo 142 to "Targa Tasmania", AU, got very impressed what he saw and decided to put up an event like that.
- He worked hard and got $ 20 000 sponsorship (!) from the poorest (?) Canadian region and rest is history.
- Mr Mepham should be hired to run US ProRallying?
