I'm not seeing this as a bad thing. The rules already prohibit alcohol in the service areas or imbibing while competing.

The only bad thing I see about this is if they mean at the awards ceremony.... :( But really, lots of people have to drive home right after the awards. Drinking and driving is illegal in most states, and I can see the reasons why STPR would go this route.

Makes us Oregonians look like lushes, we're having our award banquet at a brew-pub/restaurant... but then again, the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse is awesome, and everyone had such a blast there last year! :)

you have correctly realised or stumbled upon the correct conclusion that Beer is the fuel which drives Rally and the Glue which hold the Rally world together.
At least in all the rest of the civilised world.

I owe you beer.
will pay up at Orey-gone.

Too bad the Puritans still rule America.

Awards at STPR are on Sunday morning in the local movie house. No booze there anyhow. I see that the location of the parties has moved this year to the local airport; this probably has something to do with it. But...the bars are still open, and what one does in the privacy of his/her motel room (or parking lot) is his/her own business

Spraying people with Champagne (or anything else) always struck me as barbaric behavior, but many like it. Whatever blows your skirt up.

I don't think being married specifically prohibits you from purchasing liquor, sweetie! I'm not totally sure, so I guess I won't get married anytime soon and find out ;-) But if it does, can I buy YOU one?

No worries! I'm married, bought Kala a beer, drug her out into the woods and seem to have suffered no lasting damage.

"Spunky"? Hmmm ...
