I really want a Sparco helmet for my upcoming navvie duties @ Sno*Drift '04 but I'm not sure if it's legal for competition use since they're not widely available here in the States.

I'm planning on getting a non-intercomm'd Pro Jet since my driver (Mike Anderson) already has a terraphone set up ready for me and he mentioned that many competitors run w/the Terraphone set up so if I ever co-drove for someone else I could use my helmet w/o much hassle.

The safety rating on the Sparco Pro Jet is BS6658-85 A/FR.

Can anyone from the SCCA or any other knowledgable rally person help a newbie out w/this question???

Cheers!

Per 5.1.A.1, BS 6658-85 A/FR is legal. This is the same spec that all the Peltor helmets are legal under.

My next helmet will probably be the Rally Plus(?), closed face with Peltor intercom.

BS 6658-85 is a FIA norm and legal for SCCA.
SCCA complies with FIA regulations (normally).

Thanks again. I figured they're legal since it seems like alot of the Polish rally guys from Chicago run Sparco/Peltor helmets. :)

Cheers!
