Dear Enthusiasts:
The SOUTHERN CROSS RALLY SERIES in New South Wales, Australia, gives much food for thought about future possibilities for Historic stage rallying. Entry is limited to pre-1985 vehicles, 2WD only, no forced induction. Here's a link:

It seems a very progressive approach well suited to adaptation in North America.
