Ok, so you don't want to drive. That's your choice.

Here is a list of driver's who don't care about politics and like to drive hard on the dirt and have committed for this event:

Erik Schmidt
John Conley
Nathan Conley
Mark Malsom
Brant Ford
Mike Kilpatrick
Tom Kilpatrick
Shawn Whitney
Cale Whitney
Bob Campbell
David Kern
Steve Bis
Brooks Freehill
Brian McGuire
Kevin Wenzel
Keith Wenzel
Kyle Watkins
Steve Ott

The last event was a huge success and I expect this one to be bigger. Great warm up for the RallySprint National Championship in October.

Must have missed the press release.
Sounds like a midwest rallysprint championship if there are none held elsewhere.

RE: SCCA RallySprint National championship

You need to pay attention. The National Championship was anounced months ago. Its in Topeka the same weekend as the RallyCross National Championship, October 8th-9th. You have to be an SCCA member and it was announced in their SportsCar magazine as well as in GRM. Check the Special Stage archives when we talked about the first RallySprint back in March and April, it was mentioned there as well. As in all SCCA Natioanl Championships its a one off event.

Oh. I guess they'll find a nice lawn to tear up. My SCCA renewal bill even includes $150 for my Pro Rally license renewal (who's not paying attention)? Unfortunately, after a largely unrewarding 26 year membership, I will NOT be renewing, nor will my spouse. YMMV.

Hmmmm. I've been paying attention, even posted a question on SCCA's less than active RallyX message board about the rumored "RallyX National Championship" with no responses.

A quick look at the SCCA website calendar of events shows RallyX's in Oregon and Ohio on the dates you mention. No notice of a "National" or a RallySprint National either (this is the "rally" event calendar BTW).

I've also asked my club's RallyX chairman about the date and he says he's not heard of a firm date yet or even if there will be one.

It would appear that it is only known to a rare few, and not even posted on the club's website calendar of events. Sounds alot like wishful thinking at worst, and really poor communication and lousy Public Relations at best.

If you have the "dirt" on these events I would really appreciate it if you throw some of it at the right people so that the SCCA event list and website get updated. Honestly, I want these rumoured events to actually get "National" interest and participation instead of just the few that actually know what is really going on.

IMHO. ;-)

RE: SCCA RallySprint National championship

I am not part of the SCCA National Staff. My main goal was to get the word out about the July 24th Rally Sprint. Mark Misegadis is running this event so any questions concerning the RallySprint should go to him. As far as the two National Championships I was told about them in December. The National rules were announced in March and published in SportsCar a couple of issues ago. From what I understand the SCCA is not doing heavy advertising for the National Championships because they don't want to be overwhelmed at a first time event. This may change when the date gets closer. They didn't even advertise our first RallySprint. Our Region also has a RallyCross scheduled for the same weekend and we have moved it but the change has not yet appeared on our web site. If you have questions about the National Championships I would call Sue Robinson.

I am off to the races and probably won't be able to check in here for at least the next ten days. Good luck!

Good answers, thanks for replying. Good luck with your events! Hopefully we'll see better advertising later this Summer...
