Because I've now seen this posted as an accepted fact in a several threads here, I'd like to take a moment and set the record straight.

SCCA did not invent performance rallying in the United States.

SCCA did not invent the performance rally series in the United States.

SCCA did not even sanction the first FIA rally ever held in the United States. (The odds of anyone with the exception of ACP knowing this are extremely remote. Here's a clue: POR was not the first FIA rally in the United States.)

There are some, myself included, who thought then (and still do) that performance rally took a considerable turn for the worse when SCCA co-opted the existing MONY series.

Performance rallying the the U.S. predates SCCA; I'm confident that it will do just fine without the SCCA.
