While watching "Hit the Road" on the History Channel tonite at 8pm eastern.

The show is about mountain roads, and there is a small (~5 min) segment on pikes peak, and the event.

Showed some clips from one of the factory neons (Shepard I think) and a Clip of Pat R from last years event.

Pretty hot y0!

Thanks for the reminder Matt! I planned to say something about Dougie's appearance on that show but work has interfered all morning.

There were more action shots of the barb-wire-liveried SRT-4 than any other car and Doug's were the only in-car shots, I believe. There was indeed a shot of the Rocket Subaru and even an interview with Phil Layton who didn't look nearly so haggered on film as he did in person during hillclimb week (imagine that).

Now when do we get to close and race over that Highway to the Sun?

From what I saw of winter on the show, no matter how you start, it ends up being downhill!

If you saw the show, you also saw the road to Hana. 36 mi. I predict a winning time of 54 min.

It gets better. The road to Hana from the other direction is unpaved (when renting a car, I had to sign a statement that I would not take the car down this road. Ha!)

SS1 - Hana highway (starting at Hwy 36)
SS2 - Hana to Hwy 31
SS3,SS4 - reverse above

We'd probably have to use rental cars, unless we can find a sponsor to ship all the cars to Maui.

There's a Ruby's Diner on Maui. Maybe Ralph would like to sponsor "Rally Hawaii".:+
