WCRE 1420, the local Cheraw, SC AM news/classic rock station, is putting me on the air tomorrow morning. They are a sponsor of the rally and are already playing the radio promo we've developed.

Oh, you want to _experience_ me making a fool of myself? I mean, you want to hear it instead of just watching me as is usually the case? Well, lucky you! This station broadcasts over the internet! }(

So, tomorrow (1/20/06) at a bit after 8:00AM EST, you can go to http://wcreradio.com/ and click on "Listen to Braves Football!" and tune in to what goes down. I don't know what the plan is, they told me we're just going to wing it. Plus, awesome southern accents. :D

If you want to hear the radio promo, you can download it from the Sandblast Rally web site:
http://sandblastrally.com/2006/press-radio.cfm

Hopefully this will bring out some more spectators and workers.

Wish me luck!

Nope, I don't like grits. I prefer hash browns. :)

The radio gig was pretty cool. I got there at about 8:05. I chatted with the hosts (Mitch and Jane) for five or ten minutes off air while answering some of their basic questions. Then they flipped the switch and we were live!

One way that radio is cool is the *length* of exposure. I was on the air from 8:15 to 8:55. The three of us just talked about rally (and other topics like "how to pronounce my name") for almost an hour.

Don Kennedy said:
>Anders, tell us about it. Some of us had to work and couldn't listen to it.

I'll do you one better. After it was done, they burned me a CD of the whole thing. So, I'll try to rip those tracks and get them on the SandblastRally.com web site.

Afterward, we took some promo pics of the three of us there in the studio, which they are going to send off to the local paper.

It was fun! I haven't been on the radio since I did some DJing one summer at college.

So, now I'm in Cheraw, about to head home. Listening to the CD on the way. Naturally I sound like an idiot to myself. *grin*

Cheers,
Anders

RE: *MORE* audio now available

Maybe you've been thinking, "Ahh, haven't heard Anders on the radio for a while."

Well, I'm ready to fix that!

We did another radio interview on the Thursday before Sandblast Rally. I finally got around to re-sampling it and posting it. As usual, rally blah-blah-blah and other topics too, plus goofy me on the radio.

You can get it in the same place as before:

http://sandblastrally.com/2006/press-radio.cfm

and you're looking for the Thursday Interview link, 31 minutes.

Cheers,
Anders
