June 13 and 14, 2003
Merritt, BC, Canada

Round 5 of the Canadian Rally Championship presented by Yokohama

National level rallying returns to British Columbia as teams from across Canada and the Northwest United States converge here in June to race on a compact, challenging gravel road course at the Pacific Forest Rally, round five of the 2003 Canadian Rally Championship. During the 70?s and 80?s the Pacific Forest Rally was a fixture on the Canadian national calendar. Revived once again in 2000, the event is now based in Merritt, just 2.5 hours east of Vancouver.

In a short time the Pacific Forest Rally has re-established itself as a favourite event with both competitors and fans alike. The team of rally organizers is dedicated to making this event one of the best in western North America. Their professionalism and thoroughness will insure that every aspect of the event is just right. The reputation of this group and the picturesque setting in the Nicola Valley have helped achieve instant success, as fans and competitors continue to flock to this event. Despite holding the rally in mid-June, extreme mountain conditions can arise to challenge drivers as dirt, rock, and even snow test driving skill. Organizers expect a strong field of at least 35 teams from across Canada and the USA to compete in the rally in 2003.

This event is sanctioned by the Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS) and Rally Pacific Motorsports (RPM), and is organized by the West Coast Rally Association (WCRA).

"Pacific Forest Rally team bios"

Reminder: For anyone planning or thinking about competing at June's PFR rally in BC, the team bios need to be in by early April. This is because of the high quality of the spectator guides that will be produced (25K of them).

See the PFR web site www.pacificforestrally.com for more details.

bump!

RE: Supp Regs

Hi Jamie,

Yup, you are confirmed - we've received photos & bios from 21 teams in total.

BTW, that total does NOT include:
- 5 more Eastern Cdn teams that are likely or possible
- 5 more Western Cdn teams that are likely or possible
- a few PNW US teams that are likely or possible

I'll see if I can get the web master to post a list of "interested teams" or "likely entries" as evidenced by submitted bios. No "Entry List" yet as early entry deadline isn't until June 4th.

Cheers,

Bill

Is it too late for my bio?

Ohh, I've never done this before....

I like long spirited turbocharged drives through the woods, midnight Zenon-lit strolls through service areas and quiet evenings cuddled up in front of the TV watching rally videos. My turnoffs are DNFs and dust.

RE: Is it too late for my bio?

OK Dave, but what category do we post your Personal Ad under?

- LCD: Lonely Co-drivers

- DCD: Divorced Co-drivers

- MBWTECD: Married, but willing to experiment Co-drivers

...?

Spectator guide vs. Competitor guide

Why are they called spectator guides? Each one I've seen has competitor info and none have had informtion about spectators.
Why not call them competitor guides?

Sorry, bored today and nothing to argue about on the US forum.

RE: Spectator guide vs. Competitor guide

I am looking for a co-driver for this event (need either CARS licensed or SCCA Pro), assuming my vehicle survives the prior week's Dryad/Shitepoke event in WA.

Must be willing to push (vehicle equipped with Lucas electrics).

RE: Spectator guide vs. Competitor guide

Dave,
The funny thing is that at about half of the events I've been in I managed to be both a competitor and spectator ... ;-)

Not to mention unwitting member of the stunt driving (flying) team and a member of the old growth deforestation projects......:p
