Wow! That is a fantastic read. That is why I got into rally. Apparently it is still possible to put in a high milage rally that runs throughout the country and has good competition.

Now who's all for going next year?

I would have done it this year but it fell on my daughter's 5th birthday.

You wouldn't believe the build quality on the Historic Motorsport Escort, makes my Cortina look like it was slapped together --- BTW it wasn't an original old rally shell, they were able to get the old registration number from the DVLA.

Great looking car. There is no doubt that the escorts of today for vintage rallies are better then when rallied new, development has continued, machining is better, fuels and oils are better, tires are better, shock valving has improved, etc.. Even in historic racing and rally the cars are improved and work better which means faster.

Anymore links?

Got to love the Sport Quattro in the back ground.

You'll notice it has a bolt-in cage. :)

I don't have really any other pics of the Escort; I do have some others from the rally car museum which I may post later.
