im sure most of you knew this but i just found out that Rhys did the majority of the stunt driving for the new Dukes of Hazard movie.

apparently he was so fast in the charger that they had to slow the film down to get the desired effect.

one of his Evo VIIIs was used as a chase car w/a camera strapped to the hood.

the newest issuew of hot rod magazine just did an article about it.

he didnt do the big jump, though.

i may actually see this movie now.

the stunt coordinator did the stuff for the bourne supremacy as well. he used a european rally driver for that one and was so happy w/the results that he decided to find an american rally driver for this one.

I just saw Rhys on a Nissan commercial shoot a couple of weeks ago, he was doing the precision driving and Rod was there too.

Hey, he's getting paid to drive cars. That beats the hell out of schlepping plungers and paint brushes all day.

Hey, Don't forget about Tanner Foust, Subaru #429 from Colorado. He drove in some of the scenes with Rhys.

It was a few issues back, I want to say it was the one with the Turbo Elise on the cover (reason why I bought the issue)

That was a great time! Rhys was the quintessential pro driver through the entire 2 month shoot and turned a lot of heads in the film industry. I was lucky enough to double Billy Pricket, the bad guy racer sponsored by Boss Hogg, and Bo Duke for the opening sequence. Thank goodness for directors who like rally racing!

It was actually one of those caption contests and Rhys was dressed up as a sheriff standing in front of the cop car, in the process of eating his doughnut... the issue that was available at the time of Oregon Trail. I didn't check the following issue to see what was submitted :)

I saw the movie the other night, and I must say I was really happy with the outcome! It was a lot of fun!

Great driving guys! The good, REAL driving made the movie a lot of fun to watch. It could have easily been cheezed up with sped-up footage and stuff, but this was pure rally style :)
