I was watching a show on the History Channel. Included in the show was mention of presidential dogs. For example: George Bush has a Scottish Terrier, and John Kerry has a German Shepherd.

I beg of you please.... let's not have a political discussion. My question relates only to rally.

I know some people like to remain anonymous and are very private. Others are more public. Include as much or as little information as you feel comfortable with. This information will not be used against you.... well, not by me anyway :)

Why am I asking this? Curiosity.

I have a German Shepherd, Kurt, who I love dearly and other than my wife is my best friend and more important to me than anyone else on the planet.

We also have an asthmatic, constipated, fat, neurotic, idiot of a cat, Sylvester. He is a veterinarian's dream, and a money pit for us. I like him, pet him, feed him, medicate him, and care for him, but God is he stupid!

Sylvester sitting under an umbrella in the house. I'm not sure if he was looking up for rain. I told you he is stupid.

I had a photograph of Sylvester sitting next to a paper shredder. It looked as though he was staring at his shadow on the wall, or perhaps trying to figure out how to get himself into the slot in the paper shredder (perhaps to commit suicide) ... beats me. But I can't find the photo.

i have a cat who means the world to me, she is always there to keep my company, its too bad she pooped on my lap last time i took her for a car ride or i would bring her all over with me. Her name is princess, that wasnt the name she had when i adopted her from the spca, but one she earned for herself and has now stuck. this is her looking out the window at the snow the other day.

We have 2 Bichon Frise, Duke and Lucy. Duke is a large-for-a-Bichon 25 pounds, easy going, athletic and fancies himself a great hunter. Lucy is a diminutive 12 pound lap princess who dominates Duke and charms everyone who meets her. They are our children - our son is married with a son of his own.

One of the engineers in one of my groups some years ago said "The more I meet people the more I like my dogs". I am not sure she originated that but I can certainly relate to it.

Sam is our cocker spaniel. Old, stone deaf, skin problems, occasionally prone to socially unacceptable acts when left alone for too long in the house, a general [email protected] But no way are we letting him go early.

George is our cat and typically aloof and without a need for human companionship except at around 4:00 AM when he decides it's time to play.

Remind me again why we have pets?

Current household count is 5 cats and 1 dog. One of the cats and the dog belongs to my brother. We're busy indoctrinating him into racing culture with Karting. He's too young for anything else. Another cat belongs to my sister, his name is "Chicane". She found him at Summit Point Raceway. Two of the other cats are nominally mine. One lives in the garage, and I tell my customers she's my supervisor. The 5th cat, Ralph, I've had since I was 8. In people years he's like, 87 or something. His hobbies are yelling, and waiting for me to fill his food bowl. He doesn't yell for attention mind you, he just likes meowing very loud. Oh, and he likes scaring everyone by sleeping with his eyes open, or with his head hanging down off the edge of the bookshelf or whatever.

Sidetrack:

> Circle Track

Wow! I'm not the only one! Everyone else at my car club seemed to look down on Circle Track because it dealt with "roundy-round" cars. But I like to read it because it handles rough-and-tumble mechanical issues.

back to the main topic:
Have a Dalmatian. The dog ate the floormats out of my SAAB 900 once. Left them outside to dry and the dog chewed them up.

Also have a parrot. I'm trying to teach him the engine noises and sounds from the shop. I leave SpeedChannel on for him, but when NASCAR is on he only picks up on the cussing :(

Great thread! My wife and I have 2 Border Collies, Colin and Nik!
Colin has been to many rallies, and sometimes, if you listen close to the Speed Channel Rally shows, you can hear him barking when the cars come by! (I have even made sure to shut up on the commentary when I know his bark is coming up, don't tell Doug!)

Nik was adopted from the Humane society, and is deathly afraid of any motorized vehicle... so he's never been to a rally...A very affectionate dog, especially for the normally hyper active breed they are.

At the shop we have a very large Rhodesian Ridgeback (7 months and 62 lbs.) he hobbies include chewing on driveshafts, exhasts, wiring looms, and trying to stare at the arc when I am welding (this problem has finally been fixed). At home we have two Russian Blue cats both hate the dog. The dog looks forward to humping your leg at various national events next year.

"Colin" and "Nik" ... as in the British Brat, and the Welsh Wizard?

Get people to sit next to him or to hold him in their laps during their interviews so he will be on camera.

We have in our house an 81# Black Lab/Golden Retriever mix named Sparky who is forever the lapdog, or tries to be. Yes, he (and the two of us) are headed for the diet trail to ease our arthritis. Sparky is a tail-wagging face-washer that alot of people don't appreciate. I'd bring him along, but he has a non stop bark that drives me crazy.

The cat, Moey (a form of Morris..same coloration only female),owns this house and simply allows us to reside here. As long as the dinner dish is full and the litter box is clean, she's happy. Oh yea, and she'll retrieve anything. You don't have anything? She'll find something and bring it to you. Better than the dog. Sparky says, "Well, idiot human, you threw it...you go get it."

And then there's Squeak the Rat...son brought her home; keeps her upstairs; squeaks whenever you enter the room. The cat doesn't know what to make of her.

Madame Roland, a heroine of the French Revolution, is credited with saying: "The more I meet men, the more I love my dogs." A little harsh, but hey consider when she was busy becomming notable.

As the moniker might imply, we have two cats and two dogs. All have been adopted from rescue groups or humane societies. Edlest is a golden retriever, Roddy, who at 10 1/2 thinks he's 2 1/2, and plays accordingly. He would love to go to rallies here in So Cal but would probably bring back a bumoper if he ever got to chase the cars. Next is Sarah, border collie-siberian husky mix, 10 yrs. old. The queen of f-ing everything, she is actually the most mellow doggo you'll ever meet. Both weigh in at about 90 lbs. Moxie is a 4 yr. old calico flirt of a cat, who perches on the highest body part of sleeping people and sleeps with her bum firmly lodged in your face. Duffy is a 2 yr. old seal-point siamese, who is all siamese cat--independent, curious, talkative, loud in the early am. Doesn't sleep with people, because the more he sees of people, the gladder he is that's he's a cat.

Two dogs, Malachai a breaded collie and Fergus austrailian shepard.

Circle Track "and racing technology" is a good read and only cost $4. I think the subscrition rate is only $12 a year.

We just have Jenna. She is an all white American Bulldog/boxer mix that was rescued. She is about 65lbs and considered overweight by some and others not. She has been mistaken for a pig by some kids and took offense to it. She does have an exposed pink belly and I could see the resemblance, but she is female. Jenna was our first child for my wife and I. Jenna and my wife teamed up on me to overthrow the rule of the house and won occasionally. I am not sure if she thinks she is the porn star or watches tv while we are way. Jenna tries to hump anyone to her fancy, and seems to be aroused on occasion. I don't condone it, but it is funny at times. She also does impersonations of Elvis by curling her upper lip and has a lovable overbite.

Oh, you are sick! :) You need to step away from rally and get out more often.

I seem to recall Nicky was on one of the ProRally TV shows a while back (perhaps last year). Did you meet him? Does he know what you've done?

I would like to see people's pets. Better yet would be people with their pets. I dunno how to add them here.

My guess is to add a web URL like:

http://www....... etc/etc

the picture needs to be hosted on the internet first.
there are lots of free photohosting services that work & allow hosting to external sites like this, like http://photobucket.com/ or http://www.villagephotos.com/ .

then when the photo is uploaded you take the path of it and type it out in here

Htt*p://ww*w.thedomianhostnamehere.c*om/photonamehere.j*pg
and it will auto add the picture - no special tagging needed

***you need to remove all the "*" from the name, but if i didnt put them in, it would have tried to host that fake address

good luck! :7
