Is this even a contest this year?

By my unofficial tally, Mr Dillon outdid himself this year...

At this rate he'll lock up Rally Ho of the decade next year...

And he's even learned to swear... wow. He's the full package now...

Just giving it to you John... I never went faster with anyone else.

Aw, shucks (digging toe in ground)

As Dave reminded me again at Reno.... Ho's get paid--I'm a rally slut.

(Okay, I've been a ho a few times.... and I like it.)

There are some pretty strong contenders out there, so I don't know if I'm deserving of the title. Didn't Ben score 10 one year?

Nonetheless, I'll confess that in 2005 I set a new personal record: 8 drivers, 11 events, 5 classes, 2 countries, eight states, and with three overall wins. No year-end championships, however!

Next year I promise to settle down, running mostly with Brian (unless somebody wants me to codrive for them in R-A events too.)

And yes, Trevor, I'm still really proud of that 3rd place trophy from Mt. Hood with you. I had a great time navigating for you.

RE: Alan Perry?

and Papa Dave Shindle .... Dave, what's your tally for the year?

ALSO

Honorable mention to Sandy Hygate ... who jumped into a car mid event at Baie w/ a driver that spoke no English (and Sandy no French).
NOW I'll bet that's one that you've not done eh John?

Not me

Not so many this year. 4 drivers. Consider it an offyear reproducing a little codriver instead.

But I also did this at Rally de Quebec in 2000. There was a lot of pointing going on.

That's impressive!

Non, jamais. Je parle français (un peu). Alors, un fois avec Leon à Rim: Je ne pourrais pas parler ainsi j'ai utilisé des doigts pour se diriger et pour donner la sévérité, avec un poing pour les "attention."

To my French-speaking friends everywhere. I did say I speak only a little!

I didn't think that I rode with too many different drivers this year. Then I went back and counted and it ended up being 6 different drivers over 11 rallies (and I missed 2 rallies because Doug Chernis' car was not back together after the Rim rollover).

Last year it was 8 (in 10 rallies), but I was also turning down rides at the end of the year to avoid beating Ben's record.

Fortunately, the driver was VERY local, and really only needed someone to do the timekeeping. He apparently pointed out his house as they passed it...
