A shout out to Rally America for supplying the "designated spectator area ends here" signs.

I thought the signs were a usefull addition to the spectator areas.

I believe STPR also had signs made up about obeying your marshals, which were also important tools at the event.

Thanks also to the STPR workers who hauled the awkward things around, placed them, and saw that we got them back. We'll be taking them to the rest of the ProRally events this year.

Spectators paid more attention to them than I expected...they served both to delimit spectator areas and to keep folks out of starts and finishes.

I agree they were a great idea and had a nice official presence there...but...
It sure would be nice if they were orange or something.

On more than one occasion we came up to the beginning of a stage and figured we were okay for getting into the control on time...afterall, I could see the edge of the YELLOW CLOCK! Oops...that wasn't the yellow clock! Cindy, you have to get out and run up there!

I'm embarrassed to say it caught us out more than a couple times.

They were ordered up just a week before the event...never thought they might be mistaken for yellow clocks...but we should have known better. Most places I saw them, they were opposite the yellow clock anyway. Of course, there's that thing with the numbers in the right side of the car that might have helped, too...

Ooh yeah. That thing with the numbers is always DEAD ON
to where the timing control is, at EVERY SINGLE EVENT after
EVERY SINGLE transit...

...Oh my goodness my sides hurt after that one. Too much
laughing.



They were nice signs though. Orange IS a great idea.
