Cool!

Now can we get more stories on some of the "club" rally entrants this time around?

Personally I find those much more interesting than the usual blather about the factory teams. All kinds of angles are there for the reporting - David vs Goliath, overcoming impossible odds, heroics, self-sacrifice, etc.

Kinda like how the NCAA is often more entertaining than the NBA.

Cheers!

Fri 21-Feb-2003 17:27 Car 611, JENKINS & Tremusini smashed the torque converter cover and are also concerned about the cars low clearance on the 2-track stages.

Could it have something to do with them running a '72 corvette???

Way cool. American Rallying, welcome to the 21st Century.

Almost real time, no more waiting until thursday next week to find out the good stuff.

Best of all, Production cars actually exist.

Keep up the awesome job.

These guys were scrambling around at service trying to build a skidplate after the first section. They seemed to have a good time and finished day one. I believe they were time barred on day two, though I'm not sure what happened there. All in all it was a good weekend.

As the medical sweep vehicle who sat with them at the transit to #7 on Saturday - they were dealing with a fuel line situation which they were able to fix in the woods with minimal tools and were able to continue on ... only to arrive from the transit at stage #7 - 2 minutes late ....

Well...32 minutes late on that ONE TRANSIT. Well outside MPL, when you figure they had to have accumulated some MPL minutes on earlier stages. The organizers calculated their MPL, giving them every possible break...but they still didn't make it. They still had fun, and will be back...but maybe not in the Corvette...

Methinks the big yellow bus update-person needs a break in the evenings. The updates seem to get a little more terse and make less sense. Whats a map laptop anyway? :) (quote was map light, Al...)

Congrats on another great job.

Yes updates were getting terse by the end of each day. Turns out that even typing on the keyboard wears you out after a while. I added spell checking to the updates, now I guess I'll have to add gramer. Before you know it I'll have a full blown windows program. :-(
It was fun to do and we learned a few more things this trip. Let me/us know what suggestions you have and what more you'd like to see (I know I'm opening myself up real wide here) and we'll see what we can do.

BTW: That nice calculator someone borrowed you on Friday was mine. Hand it over next time we meet up.
See ya
