Racing team auctioning off trip for the departed

May 20, 2005 12:54 PM
RALEIGH, N.C. A North Carolina auto racing team is auctioning off a chance to send a loved one's ashes up a mountainside as fast as the racers can go.

Carolina RallySport is a rally racing team competing in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado on June 25th.

It's offering to place the cremated remains in a miniature urn that will be positioned as a hood ornament on the team's Subaru. The winning bidder can meet the racers at the mountaintop to scatter the ashes.

Bidding on e-Bay ends Monday.

Half the proceeds go to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation.

Interresting post. When i go thats what i want. Half in the Colorado River were i was raised and the other half in the Cali dezert. We did that to a friend of ours. His ern was a small fuel cell that his dad made and we put our stickers all other it. We put some of the ashes in the race car and let them spread over the dezert. When we race he is still racing with us.
