Hi all

First, congrats to all who finished Tall Pines. Been there (several years ago!) and can testify to the difficulty of just getting to the end.

Looked at Tom Hayston's photos today (THANKS, Tom!!!) and noticed the super-scoop on top of the Himes' RX-7. Not asking for the skinny on any rally secrets, but is that just for ventilation? If nothing else, it certainly gives the car one mean attitude!

Best regards,

Dave B.

I hear you man. That race still has me shakin' in my boots.

The huge scoop is just a bling bling air vent.

It's the air intake for the wood fired sauna. They stay nice and toasty in there so they can go faster on the stages. The weird thing though, is when they get to the controls, they jump out naked and roll in the snow.

That was supposed to stay a "rally secret". Sheesh, have you ever tried to pass tech with a woodstove hidden in the car?

NO rolling in the snow after sauna this weekend. The Sword motor inn had all the exits from the sauna to the snow boarded up. The only door we could get through required the clerk to buzz us in.

Night stage = no brakes. Otherwise I could have stepped on the gas and really got that Husqvanra poppin'.
