Most recent report I can offer.

"I 've gone to the top  the Top of Pikes Peak 3 times in the last three
days. The road has gotten rain the last few days and is in record shape.
The crews have been grading and filling a bunch of the road. All the old
Pennzsupress that was layed down a few years ago and was so deteriated
has been removed. The area that was so chewed up between the ski area
and Glen Covehas been reworked but is still a little choppy. The top is
a little loose from all the new gravel, but may settle in with some more
rain.

Also Cove Creek, where so many cars spun, has been completely reworked.

The aspalt is aspalt (oh well) but shows signs of recent testing. The
lower section below the dam has some loose gravel runoff."

My parents were down there yesterday morning to take the Cog, and they say the roads looked good, but maybe a little moist.

Moist dirt + dry asphalt= stupid fast :)

the tennis ball sized haiil was last week, heh.

Leon:

A swimsuit and snow skis should about cover it. The local weather says cloudy through Friday then rain on Saturday. Anything could happen between now and then so be prepared.

See you on the hill!!

Even without the forecast when in the mountains in Colorado prepare for it all!

Today was suppsoed to be 70 with afternoon showers, as far as I can tell its been raining, sometimes very heavily since about 4 am....

Nothing weatherwise is sacred in Colorado. Last year it snowed on Wednesday, and was 70s at 16 mile on saturday.

Anything from 0-100 is reasonable termpature wise on various parts of the mountain.

For being at 16 mile and various other spots I will be wearing heavy pants that convert to shorts with snow and rain gean on hand and dressed/packed for 5 layers.

Don't foget lots of sunscreen and water, we're at altitude, you sea lovers need more water here then there, and we're closer to the sun, you'll burn like the burger no one took off the grill.

The media survival guise on PPIHC is really pretty good at this stuff.
