If you are going to the Hill climb, please read the following from the PPIHC Media department!

PPIHC board votes to cancel camping on night before Hill Climb

Due to the extreme dry conditions in the Pike National Forest, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has canceled camping on Pikes Peak on the night before the June 29th race.

?Because of the dry conditions that exist, we felt it was in the best interest of everyone if we cancelled overnight camping,? said Steve Matthiesen, chairman of the PPIHC board of directors.

The cancellation of camping will not affect the race, practice or qualifying. Practice for cars and trucks is scheduled for June 25-26. Cars and trucks will qualify and motorcycles, quads and sidecars will practice on June 27th. On June 28, the SCCA ProRally cars will practice and the motorcycles, quads and sidecars will qualify.

Traditionally, race fans could purchase a permit to camp on Pikes Peak. It was the only night of the year that camping was allowed on the mountain. The decision to cancel camping applies this year only.
