Round 5 of the 2005 Canadian Rally Championship

Competitors' Bulletin No. 1

Welcome to the 2005 Pacific Forest Rally (PFR)!

As you may have already learned, plans are underway to make this the best event yet in the short history of modern performance rallying in BC. Apart from the usual warm hospitality and a professionally-run event, you can expect enhanced features to make your experience at PFR all the more memorable. However, in our ongoing efforts to improve our event, we are always looking for feedback from you, our primary "customers".

In the meantime, don't be shy and just ask if you need assistance or are unclear on any of the event specifics. We look forward to seeing you all in Merritt.

Many profiles are now in hand, with more expected to arrive in the next few days. So far, a broad spectrum of competitors from BC, Alberta and Washington appear to be waiting for more competition from those eastern Canadian teams who elect to make the journey westward.

3./ CARS 'rally train' to PFR and Tall Pines

This is a last minute reminder that, through the support of L Hansen's Forwarding and CP Rail, the 'rally train' may still have openings for reservations on the last two 2005 round trips between Toronto and Calgary for the Pacific Forest Rally and the Rally of the Tall Pines.

Pacific Forest Rally, Oct. 14-15
- drop off date in Toronto is September 22 with the return drop off date in Calgary being October 16.

Rally of the Tall Pines, Nov. 25-26
- drop off date in Calgary is November 3 with the return drop off date in Toronto being November 27.

If you would like to take advantage of the transportation program, please call the CARS office. Further details about the train may be found on the CARS web site (pdf file):

4./ Need a co-driver? Looking for a ride? Check the PFR website or send details of your situation to mailto:[email protected]

5./ Have an in-car camera system?
Do you want a chance to be a "TV rally superstar"?

The producers of our TV broadcast are welcoming private submissions of in-car/on-board camera footage. They will be installing some of their own cameras but there are never enough to go around. They've asked that we open up this opportunity to everyone who may be interested in the opportunity to maybe get in on the final cut.

All tape submissions must be in the producer's hands within 7 days of the event, as they intend to go to broadcast within 3-4 weeks of the rally. Details of where to ship the tape will be available at event registration.

Accommodation Information / L'information de Logement
