I want to be the first here to say a big congrats to Pat
for a great 9th place in the Snow rally this weekend.
He was 42nd overall, and 9th in Group N. Very impressive.
Good luck the rest of the year. There must be some kink of
record in here some where.

It looks to me as though Richard is 42nd overall and 18th in N4 ??
He was 17:11.2 behind the N4 leader or 8.6%
He was 32.28.2 behind Gronholm or 17.7%.

Congratulations are still very much in order for a team new to WRC and a very long way from home ... with a pinch-hitting co-driver no less.

Later ... ah, thanks for the clarification on points. Does it help or hurt, I wonder, that the entire North American rally community is looking over his shoulder? Go Pat!

I think the original post with his position in class was the position for points in the PCWRC. Many other Group N cars were entered there but were not eligible to score points in the PCWRC.

Also, if you stop and consider the issues they dealt with - a last minute co-driver change, losing recce on two stage roads, one used twice, and not having a clue about teh studded tires they were using, the finish is a great thing.

Teh service crew managed a transmission change in 18 minutes on Sunday, and things were just starting to gel ...
