From RA live updates:
"After leading for the entire event, Car 65, Blomqvist / Goni is now tailing Car 1, Richard / Richard by 15.1 seconds."

Stig, Stig, Stig.... My faith is being sorely tested.

Pat, I gotta hand it to you...punk :), you is Da Man! Win or lose, I'm impressed.

Jens, Devil, possible pact?

Uh oh, does Jens have a pact with the devil}(

A report from the stages informed us that Car 1, Richard / Richard is possibly out of the rally, more details to follow.

The cars are starting to arrive at the final MTC here in Bemidji, so far Car 65, Blomqvist / Goni, Car 18, Iorio / Holter, and Car 199, Pastrana / Edstrom have arrived.

thats correct pat is out. he had mechanical problems and he dnf'ed. so that puts stig at a nine point lead over pat and the last 2 events should be very exciting

From RA's "Live updates":

"Car 1, Richard / Richard has DNF'd for an unconfirmed mechanical issue about 1-2 miles from the finish of Special Stage 16"

"Overall
Car 65, Blomqvist / Goni
Car 18, Iorio / Holter
Car 199, Pastrana / Edstrom"

Phew... that was close. I had to offer a human sacrifice to the rally demons. Time to blow out my black candles, and put away the pentagrams.... until next time :)

Any word on what the problem was?

Could well be but according to Juanita who was getting the time cards at Finish 16 and handing them to me inside the truck, there were fender like pieces of car sitting in the back seat of Pat's car and also, I heard on the radio on the drive back to Bemidji that they had Pat's hood and needed a way to get it back to town.

None the less, a great drive by Pat that came to naught. As to why, I can only venture a guess. Pat and Nat were finding rides to get crew members home after the rally. There were at least a dozen people with weird accents wearing yellow David Sutton tee shirts sitting at the table next to us Saturday night. Pat is doing more with less. Even though Stig is a hero of mine, GO PAT!

I too am a Stig fan but I have to commend the Richard's for their effort.
Stig has them so outdone when it comes to money, crew, effort.
Pat is making do with less and driving harder than anybody out there.

Yes, with about 2 miles left to go in the rally, our tranny had had enough. We were finally able to get a tow (thanks goes out to the Payeur brothers) but unfortunately we had a few towing issues, which was the cause for the front bumper to be 'out of place'. It had nothing at all to do with an accident on stage. Unfortunately, even with the tow, we maxed late by about 40 seconds and returned to the HQ on our trailer.

Our championship hopes were seriously hurt this past weekend but as I said yesterday, when both cars are problem-free, both teams are well aware of what Pat can do. And if anyone wants to try to tell me that Stig wasn't pushing on Saturday (or even in Maine for that matter), you'd be very wrong.

And yes, it's amazing what Pat is able to do with a budget that I'm sure is only the tiniest fraction of DSC's budget. And if you only saw a dozen DSC guys in yellow shirts, the other half must have been out having a smoke! :)

Thanks for the support,
Nathalie

Darn, if I had known how close you were, I would have figured out how to mis-write the minute or something. And for you, it would not even take the normal $20 bucks we ask others. :)

And for those who think I am serious about adjusting in times for money, we run two logs plus the time I write on the card. So you would have to pay off the timer at the line and the automatic printing timer plus me. While two of us are human, the third is not and therefore is hard to payoff. It is also hard to cheat on the automatic printout although I am sure someone could figure out how.

I'm sure John Buffum could figure out a way... Within the rules...

Actually that would have been Tom Grimshaw who would have figured it out.:)
