Doug won overall at Rally Tennessee in 2010 never running the roads. He's just that good.

Wow. Big entry list. I hope the live updater doesn't get cramps.
Here is the super cool thing I have learned about Doug in the years we have been racing together: he really is one of best drivers and co-drivers ever in the sport! He has not only won countless rallies and driving & co-driving championships through the years but very few people love the sport as much as he does. He has ran Maine rally many times and with all of the great 2wd entries for the event the battles should be epic

Hopefully Wimpey's make it out.
Yeah, we had to uncommit. $450 plane tickets, 3 days lost wages, zero Olympus revenue, and potentially being laid off at end of July combined against us and we had to pull the plug. I'm still keeping an eye on flights though and might try to get one of the place a bid things next week to see if I can score a last minute seat.
It will be an awesome event and can't wait to make something work. There will still be a Max Attack! video it just probably won't have as much field depth and variety since we'll be relying on footage generously provided by other videographers.

Well grant I just paid for the footage you guys got of us, I know its not a lot, but I hope it helps, I'd love to see you guys out there, but I know how it is. Sorry we didn't get more business from you out west!

Thanks Tom! East coast stuff is always going to be harder for us. Flights are always more and the days required are always more. Honestly it's mostly the lay off that is the biggest setback. I get a decent amount of vacation per year but have used all but 5 hours of what I will accumulate by the end of July. If I do get laid off (most likely at this point) I will get the extra hours taken out of my severance pay. In other words, combined with the flight cost we're talking about costing me over $1200 just to get there and at a time when I really shouldn't be spending money and trying to save.
It is going to be a great event! Amazing that there will be four Ford Fiestas and five Focuses yet only two Golfs and one Rabbit. If you consider the 76 Escort, Mazda 3 and Merkur that's a significant Ford presence.

Perusing the entry list and noticed a Geo Metro in Group 5!! What kind of engine will make a Geo Metro Group 5? Does it have a Turbo?

A factory one from canuckland
Or, if really cool, a turbocharged Swift GTi motor. Either one can make close to 200whp (in the grand scheme of money spending/effort) without much work.

Eric will be at NEFR. Alas I will not be (although I will be helping with MaxAttack! coverage from the other side of the country).

Doug, maybe Lurch will chime in w/ a "You raaannng?" but haven't seen him here lately. A recent email says he plans to be at NEFR to administer MaxAttack!

I think it's an I3X2. Stock Geo engines. One in front, one in rear.
open diffs mean it's still two wheel drive! one front one rear!
