hi all,

one of my brake mc's went bad during the doo **** and i need a replacement. when the previous owner built the car (mazda gtx), he used clutch cylinders for the brake mc's but from a different make and model car. he mentioned these may be from a toyota but the dealer wasn't able to identify them. they have 5/8" stamped on the top...

do these look familiar to anyone?

Your opportunity to get things right

John Vanlandingham

Eugene, they are almost without a doubt Toyota pick up, but who cares, all they are dimensionally same as Tilton, Willwood, AP, Girling, Akebono, Nissin, and the internals will even interchange.

This is a good opportunity to put the right size in, back when your car was put together, or Snydmo-ized together, guys weren't being too careful about sizing. And they accepted some pretty screwy stuff, I was moved after a drive in a certain SAAB to suggest they stick in the pedal from an automatic so they could put 2 feet on the pedal. And that was on the street! OI!

If we can finger out how to get this scanner thing going, I'll post a set up sheet straight from Ford Motorsport so you can see what _they_
use on their cars when they had pretty similar calipers.

You have the set-up, now let's get it set up correctly.

If you want you can call me at 206 431 9696.

The same set-up sheets would be a nice respoinse to the lengthy treatise on alignment.

I recomend drving the car down to john's shop on a sat or sun looking then he will take you to the nice junkyard and set you up. $20 or so.

See you for round two in OR.
