Huntsville, AL - RallyCross August 3rd - Information

Well, the weather looks great for this Saturday at the Huntsville Speedway's RallyCross By The River 2002 Series.

Gates will open at 8:00am with first car off before 10:00am. All times Central Daylight Time (CDT). We will be finished around 3:30pm.

Also for your entertainment, Friday night and Saturday night the Speedway is also hosting the national level Monster Truck series show at 8:00pm each night in case you are interested. Several big-name trucks will be there. I hope to entice them into trying out our course while we're there.

Chattanooga Pic

Isn't a bit ironic that the above picture of the General Z was taken at a Chattanooga region rally-x, and not a Huntsville rally-x.

Please......We would run in a hurricane. However, we would like to keep our site since we run SoloII's and RallyCross there. The People that own the site are nice to us and we want to keep it that way. I don't want to have to drive 500 miles to a rally, much less a rallycross. I'm sure that comment was all in fun anyway... ;)





Like you would drive down from VT.

Just teasing! The Huntsville Rally-x caught my eye because I grew up in the Mobile/Pensacola area and my family still lives there. I may keep an eye on the schedule and if there's one when I'm visiting my parents, who knows? I'm getting whipped in the New England rallycross series, maybe the competition is less stiff down there :)

I can't say much, the only snow RallyCross we've run so far had beautiful weather...

My out-of-control driving did make it into the latest New England Region magazine (and, I've heard, it'll soon be in SportsCar as well perhaps?)

RallyCross Pictures

Well, no rain meant a dusty event, but no matter.

We had a slightly different event this month. We were allowed to use the Monster Truck course, meaning that we got to drive INSIDE the speedway. They brought in some dirt and made some jumps. We were not allowed to drive over the wrecked cars though, although I'm sure that Eddie would have if he could. See the picture below for one of Eddie's illustrious runs. The picture after this one is not so pretty.

Too bad there is not a pic of the power-steering pump shoved up in the engine bay after the impact . . .

I notice that you did not get any pics of the KenRally GTI - you know, the one that won the event overall. :p
