Yup, with your entry to the Ramada rally you get hotel rooms and win cash, and thats with a 1/3 of the entry that pro events have, what gives, To all the drivers who didn,t enter, you missed a great event, great roads and well run
The Hulaupai Tribe charge a "conservation charge" for anyone entering West Grand Canyon, from memory, it isn't a money making excercise for ARSG. And from one mad Kiwi to another Leon, if you get the sponsors name wrong again, there may not be anymore cash in the future.......
Besides that, the Ramada Rally has actual sponsors that give actual cash dollars to give out as prizes. Which is pretty cool, and says a lot for the organizing staff.
Now if we could just figure out what magical words they said/wand waved/potion brewed....
And yes, the $5.00 to go to the Grand Canyon West is for the Hualapai Nation, who are extremely nice in wanting rally people to come drive like maniacs on their roads. None of that money goes to the rally, it all goes towards the Nation. And the money you spend on the great hot food at the service area at GCW also goes to the Hualapais.
BTW, were they out there again making food at the service area?? It was always so comforting to come in from the cold and fill up on hot, good food. All our drivers (and co-drivers) appreciated it, and the service crews loved it.
>"Can I make a sheep joke now?"
>Go right ahead, but remember, if you make fun of our
>girlfriends, we'll make fun of yours!!!!!!!!..........
>Just Remember the Great Kiwi vow........"Women are OK but
>you can't beat the real thing"
Or, as Don said to his girlfriend, when he left New Zealand: "There will never be another ewe".
Glad to see that you left out Welsh sheep! Boy, can they run! Just kidding. Just a blatant plug here for Welsh lamb chops. If you haven't tasted them, NZ lamb is 2nd best. Sorry Leon, the truth hurts. PS. Love the humour.
