I have a dream run that I have done many times in segments , long and short , I want to share some great roads, and vistas that are not used by the current TSD's. This could be a Historic Targa NE and I want to go high end to make it a fund raiser for two food pantries at both ends of the event that I am connected too.

Eventually I will discuss this with Steve McKelvie, he does'nt know it yet :)... but before I waste his time I have a few questions of a general nature to explore here :) .

The idea I have been kicking around in my head for the last 3-4 years is a 2 day event in the North East. Starts at a mountain top historic retreat then hits a historic New England inn for the day one finish, day two finishes at a well known lodge. So, the following will expose the fact I am on the outside edge of TSD's and a total outsider for the historic end. Is there a forum I should go to for these folk? Please direct me. I feel comfortable bouncing it out here on SS first so that is why I am doing so.

For a historic TSD how many miles can a car be expected to go? Per day?

If I drove intersates and secondary the route would be 270 miles or so, I want to do it in 370-400+/- is that feasable or expected in this kind of event?

Will a person with a Stutz or Model T or old ME/BE drive some dirt roads that are compacted and as smooth as a dirt road gets?

The level of accomidations is high/unique/historic, all have ample room for display of the vehicles, this would allow a Parc Ferme at each location ...(maybe a slight admission? Does that happen?)

How much diversion is wanted on such an event? The routes are rich with vistas, and "things", is there a preference or balance that is needed or does such a clientele want straight up movement to enjoy one end point and then the next?

I have done a few conventions in my day (in example I imported a 40 piece brass band from Germany for one just to sell the package) so building the perks and dinners and rooms into the event is understood, I know the fundraiser is on the outside of the event. The event only needs to break even.

So that's the opening round I have many more ideas but I need this basic stuff to start the flow chart.

I also understand to make this work may take more then one turn of the calender :)

Thanks Dave, I will compile any answers and adjust, but to answer one question immediately, there is a streach of 10-15 miles that is dirt... and NOTHING is on an interstate I was just mentioning the difference that it would make...

I also expect a "slow" rally with lot's of hoopla.

I also have thought about running a non historic tsd with it on the same route, concurrently as a lower cost support series.
