Since SCCA feels "PRO" is where the money is, maybe its time "PRO" puts on its own events and gives up using the "club" people to help pay the bills.
This way SCCA can have its 15-20 car fields and apply the rules or make them up as they go along. Think about it, no more will there be 6 plus year old junky cars bring down the marketability of the series. Entry fees will be easily contained to $5K-$10K per car. If a team needs more time to repair a car it will be easy to hold the field. 5 minute dust windows. The benefits go on & on.

So why does SCCA allow the "club" rallyist to bring down "PRO"? They need our money and our events?!!

Pete Morris (building "Son of CoROLLa"). For $10K I could do every club rally on the West Coast!

Certainly one could!
The point is that PRO rally from SCCA's point of view is that "only the manufacturers matter, PRO does not involve most all of us here we are club."
What I was getting at is that SCCA's vision of PRO does not exsist and cannot exsist without the club as things are now. The mis-guided ideas of many that a manfactures council is good for us is incorrect-it's about letting the manufacturers have their way not playing by the rules.

They came to play in our back yard and now own the house.
The least SCCA could do is lay down rules and follow them.
Heres one: no replacing the transmission during the event. Most privateers cannot replace one in the time given for service let alone have a spare. In other words if Subaru has 4.5 million to spend this year for rally one would think that they could atleast get a transmission to go 120 stage miles-most privateers can.
Or how about the "dust window issue", why do they need more time than the privateers?
This is not intended as a slam towards Subaru or any manufacturer. Merely make rules that equalize the field and enforce them, do not make rules for special treatment to those who DECIDE to pay the most.
If you cannpt play by the rules....

PRO needs club more then club needs PRO-Hello Mcfly
As always IMHO:+
