After much input I have put a draft set of class rules/goals up at:

http://www.11tenths.com/gp22.html

Pls feel free to add your thoughts about the class or to show support by joining it (free if you have an eligible car). I will put together some sort of meningful trophy and prizes for at least some rallys in 2003 even if they are out of my own pocket. Likely a weekend for two at The Elliott Grand Hyatt. http://grandseattle.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml and dinner at http://www.727pine.com
I will think of some other good deals for people not in the Seattle area.

I would very much like to keep the rules in alingment with the new Canadian 2wd championship "Coupe du Quebec". I hope this class will become THE palce to showcase driving talent.

That looks real fun. The only problem I see is "Pump gas". 15 min down the road from me I can drive up to a gas station and buy DOT legal unleaded VP Motorsport-103 octane gas from a pump right next to the 93 octane super unleaded. By all definitions (even the EPA/DOT) it is street legal "pump" gas, yet I am confident that it is not in the spirit of the rules.

The only thing I would change is allow any EPA approved DOT legal fuel which would include Sunoco GT (100 octane), and VP Motorsport 103.

Very nicely done Derek. Time to destroke the Monstre, get those four valve heads and make the rev limit 8500 :) Of course, the question would be if I can stand to be in something without the mind- blowing power that I currently have. ;) Folks......I have fitted 325mm rotors under my 15" wheels with AP racin' calipers. So you can put plenty big enough brakes inder a 15" wheel ;)
Now I just have to figure out how I can get the Monstre down a thousand pounds!!

325mm? What have you been up to?

By the way, as Gp222 Cheif Theorotician in Charge of Strategic Planning and Agit-prop, we have not yet, due to an oversight, published the protest rules and procedures.

They will not pass the Moralische Überwachung Geheim Polizei here at SS on line.

Lets just say, you will be allowed to enter with you current car spec just so the class can have one car that can be consistantly protested, so that the penalty can be consistantly, VIGOROUSLY applied (I suggest you get some comfy padding for your drivers seat) and everybody else can just go racing.

And no, just because the name _sounds_ like tu-tu, too, unless your's and your main squeeze Tom Grossman's tu-tus are flame proof, you boys will not be allowed wear them alone during events.

Before and after, of course it's up to you guys.

Oh goodness sakes!! I forgot the protest program.
I could enter as is, get protested and suffer a good spanking for my naughtiness. So I could go and race, get a spanking, and have a good time all in the same weekend!!! :p Does it get any better then that?? I just may have to wear the furry gloves while driving just for good measure. Need to ensure protests for the spanking you know. Now we must all remember that line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail: Scene-In the castle Anthrax with all the young women who have no men around, and are busied with making naughty underwear: "We shall all have a good spanking....BUT FIRST!!......Oral sex!!" Heehee.
Remember folks......In every group we will always fine those who take themselves entirely too seriously. Loosten up and have some FUN!!!

Derek,

If a heavy 2wd Production car met the 2.0l and under limit, would it be allowed in as long as it remained production legal? My car does exceed the 8500 rpm, but has a few more pounds because I can't legally lighten it.

Trevor--Worst case may well have you getting the spanking alongside me. :p

OK on the board and in my e-mail people do not like the way we are going about the gas type limit. How about we take all our cans and the mix the gas together so everyone ends up using the same stuff. Anyways my point was to keep cost down for running the car. I find that gas at $5/gal and my turbo car getting 7MPG made a major expence that I would rather not have. IT is also a pain in the but. I am not all that worried about enforcing it however.

Productions cars are legal for the class. We can add that if a car makes more than 8500 RPM stock from the dealership then the car is limited to the stock RPM. The class does do not care howover wieght cars are.

Does anyone know someone in Quebec? I would like to get their proposed rules for 2005 to be very close to these so we can all be a happy family.

I'll have to see how fast it really is after I get comfortable in it. It will take an event or two to get over the $$ of building it I'm sure. I'll be the "Wimp" JL says I am for a bit, but then watch out... :)

Derek,
I liked the proposal but would agree with everyone else when i think that it would be silly to limit race gas. in many ways that is the cheapest hp gain you can buy and while everyone here talks about limiting hp's no one would admit to the lord almighty that they actually want it.

One More proposal, at the last rally of the season everyone drives a different car on each stage. Just for good measure of course, and besides would'nt it be fun to get to drive a new car on everystage.

imagine it at the top level:
stage 1:subuaru
stage 2:mitsui
stage 3:peugot
stage 4:huyundi

You get the picture! (where do i come up with this stuff?)

Is this an answer without a question?

I don't believe I've ever seen a fast G2 car that doesn't already fit these rules, with the exception of maybe B.Malik's volvo (was it a 2.3?).

Is there a 3.0 / pushrod G2 car with electronic trans and carbon fiber
brakes kicking butt somewhere?

Limiting fuel is OK, but how would you economically enforce a rev limit?

Wouldn't we wind up in the same place by limiting the current G2 rules, technology and displacement before someone shows up with a car built to the limit of the current rules.

I think the pushrod adjuster should be taken out now, before someone shows up in G2 with a 350hp USAC midget engine (aluminum 2.5l pushrod currently produced by Ford, GM and Daim./Chrysler) engine.

Once again nobody wants my "grey market" 1980 Opel Ascona. Can't run it in "Pro"Rally (too old). Can't run it in Vintage class (too new). I was hoping to ressurect it and run it against all of you guys but obviously Derek is so scared of getting his butt kicked by it}> he's made a special provision to keep it out of his class, too!:p Just kidding, I see he's allowed cars like it to run as long as the other members of the class approve. So what do you say? It's just an old rear wheel drive car with a cast iron motor, nothing to be scared of...

Dave-I can't see anyone caring about the Oldpile running. I have no idea why this rule would be introduced. But as someone interested in the class I would welcome the car, the driver I'm not so sure about!:p
