Gorman Rally to Take Place As Planned

In an effort to keep regional rallying alive during the current club rally moratorium, We have obtained independent insurance for the 2003 Gorman Rally taking place on August 16, 2003 in Fraizer Park, California.

The rally will be a points event for the California Rally Series (CRS) and the Western States Rally Championship (WSRC). It will however not count towards any divisional point championships.

The insurance for the event is being obtained from the same company that has insured the Ramada Express International Rally for the last 5 years. Due to the additional costs for single event insurance it will take 40 entries for the event to break even. We ask your help and support to send a strong and clear message that club level rallying can and will survive in the United States.

RE: Decentralizarion Might Be Best

Rich,

The Gorman Ridge Rally Committee has decided not to increase the entry fee. We are anticipating that we will get the support we need to meet our 40 car entry. In fact we are hopeful that we will exceed the 40 car entry to give us a little breathing room. We had already posted the entry fee cost before the SCCA told us about having to pull the Club Rallies until further notice. We really wanted to keep the entry fees the same. We hope all of you who want to run Gorman will enter the rally as early as possible. Thanks for your support!
