Went down to my friendly Mitsu dealer last night. They had a nice silver EVO sitting on the showroom floor. A guy was signing the paperwork to buy it as I walked in. The dealer said they have two more coming (not taken yet) and they are selling them with a $3,000 mark-up (this is in La Crosse, WI). I must say it looked better in person than it did in all of the pictures I have seen.

A Columbus Dealer -- Richart won't honor their advertised 0.0% over 72 months financing...

(I offered sticker price at the 0%)

The mark-ups are between 7-9,000, but the guy "helping" me said that didn't mean anything.

Any idea if they will follow the Subaru lead and start importing a bunch more?

I like the Blue, but the silver one came without the sunroof.
Where is the reservoir for the intercooler spray?
Why does it have a rear window wiper?
Love the carbon fiber spoiler.

The dealer in La Crosse said original numbers were to be ~4000 cars. But...he said Mitsu is now bringing over ~8,000 cars. Food for thought I guess. And the dealer could be lying too. But who knows. I had to laugh though. I mentioned being involved with rallying in the US. His quote..."There's rallying in the US????!!!!"

I watched the 10 minute sales training video -- it repeated several times that the customers would know a lot about the cars than the typical customer.

I don't think it said outright that the Customer would know MORE than the salesperson but the message seemed clear to me.

Still couldn't find the reservoir for the intercooler spray...

Ah, the special edition "dumbass salesman" model.

Seems they are getting more and more common from every car company.

really try to screw them up and ask them if the spare tire spins too, it is "All" wheel drive right???

Having been a car salesman(Chrysler), I can tell you that most salesmen know squat about cars. In fact, knowing a lot about all kinds of cars can actually hurt your sales turnovers. I was the guy the other salespeople turned the "know-it-all" customers over to because I could flummox them with tons of useless info. The only time knowing a lot paid off is when I sold an Eagle Talon TSi to a kid who had never heard of rallying (heh heh heh)!

Two weeks later he had a Ralliart sticker on the rear bumper...

Mike,

Stock EVO's typically use the windshield washer bottle for the intercooler sprayer.

There's an "L" nozzle in the washer bottle at the bottom so that when the intercooler runs the bottle empty you still have a little left for the windscreen.

That's how it is on the EVO IV - VI. I haven't looked at a 7 or 8 though.

re: REAM CREME, do you get a FREE 5 gallon tub or is it maybe

somewhere in the Invoice, or must you bring your own for when they bend you over?
Do you suppose they'll: (Quote from culural icon, Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket, the comic look at the previous US big adventure in warfare) "have the human decency to give ya a reach-around?"

See, a literary or art film quote can't be offensive.

Or if some tender, and likely hypocritical sorts regard allusive filmic references to rape offensive,

look at the final price, that is no reference, that _is_ obscene.

Hey Matt, I think we should thank Mitsubishi for supporting US rally soooooooooooooooooooooo much that You should go and just give them the asking price and NOT pick up the car to show YOUR support for their support of the sport.

By the way,

What is this doing on the USA page on SS on line?
What has this to do with rally?

As yet this is just another new car so all this is pap, move it to fantasy or off topic.

Burmeister, do your duty!

There is a dealership that I would NEVER purchase a car from. Not even the pretense of anything other than ripping off their customers. Run screaming the other way from that dealership, and tell ALL your friends about how crooked they are.

Wonder how honest they would be about simple mechanical repairs if this price is any indication?

MY support is going to MY car which is anxiously awaiting a boat ride.

THEY can keep their cars with the delusional price tags.

I'm not here to pay Dave Higgins' salary.....that's the companies job.

They would almost be worth the $30k sticker if they were the same spec as the rest of the world.

Sorry Mitsu, your marketing boyz and accountants have been spending too much time smoking crack together.

I'm sure that poser-boyz everywhere will be asking their parents for the cash for one......
