O.K. Now that we have WSRC and CNAR, how about a ESRC? SandHills,100 AW, Rapidan, etc...etc...etc...? Hey, look at the possibilities: NO SEED 0 or 1 perhaps? Little to no SCCA involvement? Pure unadulterated fun. Hell, I will even voluntere to help in any way I can help. Who knows? I might even throw a Florida rally in the pot.

I think if I did an East Coast it would be more
like:

sandblast, Black River, RNY, maine winter, tarmac (or something similar), Sawmill.

Michigan and Missouri don't exactly make for East coast.
Heck, I'm in dead-central Ohio and most of the SE and NE events are
closer to me than the Cendiv stuff.

For Central something like:

Sno&drift, Headwaters, 100aw, (Ojibwe), Magnus Opus,
(LSPR), Rallye de Paris.

Sorry, Ed - that looks way too much like Super-D, which has been roundly rejected as a bad idea by the pundits on this forum.

This is such a big country, we are trying to organize or rather get others to organize, events in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missiouri and 2 in Texas for a regional contest. Maybe throw in one in Louisiana and that would be 6 events within a 500 mile range. For me anyway. :)

The problem with this is that it is really the NEDiv championship with a couple of OOD events. I personally wouldn't be interested in an eastern championship that didn't incorporate STPR and Maine (summer) in some way (and maybe Sno*Drift and/or LSPR). Think Co5 and Co3 events for a 'coastal' championship.

Just my opinion, though.

But you're talking about 2 pro only events. Is this a third
tier, or just another trophy to hand out? I rather figured
it was the latter.

And Bruce, how does this differ from the West coast? Its
just 2 divisions together.

That was my point, I think. As stated, it is really no more than the NEDiv championship with a couple of extra events (like last year). In the western context this makes sense because they have a reasonable distribution of competitors and events. They also have Co3 events at all the ProRallies so the championship can hit the high-profile events.

The problem in the east is that the major distribution of competitors is in NEDiv and eastern CENDiv (my apologies to those in SEDiv and western CENDiv), so that, IMO, should be the target 'market' of an eastern championship. It also should include the higher profile events, if possible. I believe that the western championship was just going to be Co3 events, and if we did that we'd drop a couple of events from the eastern list (Sawmill, tarmac express or equivalent) and probably score Sandhills as a combined event.

I think the Super-D model probably works better in the west than in the east.
