Not a lot around that aren't spoken for Leon.
I pretty much have kept track of most of the Mk 1's in the US.
Most of us keep in close contact for spares etc.

I have a mate in Portland with an ex World Cup car, he might be persuaded to sell.

You'd be best getting a shell from Oz or the UK.
Email me off the forums if you want advice on shells/bits etc.

Mine isn't for sale. David Sutton wanted to buy it too! :)

Whose Mk2?

What engine are you looking for?

Pinto 2.0 is the easiest choice, and plenty of power with minimal efforts, plenty of spares.

BDAs cost an arm and a leg to buy, build and rebuild (properly).

I've always thought a Kent/pushrod/crossflow in a Mk 2 felt underpowered.

Another option is a more modern engine, e.g. Cosworth YAC (naturally aspired precursor the YB turbo engine, based on the Pinto bottom end configuration), or perhaps a 2.0 Zetec or Duratec.

If you're looking for Mk 2 rally bits, there are plenty of places to get them in the UK.

RE: Escort Mark 1 books

- That rare prep book is going too cheap.....

- I, also, have an Escort book; "ESCORT PERFORMANCE" by Dennis Foy. 2nd edition, revised in 1994.
- Includes all Escorts and all engines plus lots of prep pics & tips.
- This "collector's item" hard cover is brand new.
- I want $ 35 with shipping(49 states, foreign extra). PayPal OK.
