Just wanted to say congratulations to Andrew for a great drive at SnoDrift this past weekend.
Yet again proving that Canucks do know how to drive in the snow and ice!

Well done!

Big kudos to ACP and the Musketeer crew for a long overdue win.

A certain birdie told me that the way ACP won was to (ahem) slow down just a bit, and let the race come to him. Exactly what he did--kept enough pressure on the frontrunners so they eventually crashed out, and ACP was right there to pick up the pieces.

Patience rules on snow and ice. As the field will no doubt find out at Perce Neige this weekend.

Dave:

ACP drove a very strategic rally at Sno*Drift and it paid off big time.

The same strategy may not work at Perce-Neige where there will be real ice and snow and real ice and snow drivers. :)

Real ice and snow...

"...at Perce-Neige where there will be real ice and snow and real ice and snow drivers. ..."

Speaking of which, how ARE the snow conditions shaping up at PN?

Environment Canada snowpack maps show 40-50 cm coverage in PN area. Any more news of interest? Size of banks, composition of banks, ice quotient of the roads vs snow quotient...? Inquiring minds (and tire buyers) want to know!

Dave:

We have a fair amount of snow. It has not really been cold this winter. I suspect that it will be very similar to last year. Snow banks are reasonably high.

The difference this year is that you get to do a pass over the stages so tire selection should be easier (as long as you bring everything that you have).

There was nothing but real ice and snow at SnoDrift. Ask Peter Reilly.

I see your point.

Congrats to ACP & Rod.

Heh, we ARE bringing everything that we have...except gravel tires. Border crossing might be interesting. "How come you need all them tires for just one car...?" :+
