I'll try to help Martin, I've been talking with J-F...

The 8th Annual Sherbrooke Ice Races will be held Sat.&Sun. (Friday practice scrubbed) Feb.2&3.

The Main event will be Euopean FIA ice racing (Andros) cars.

For the second year, rally cars are invited to compete in a rally car class and will be watched by CARS reps for possible expansion into an event using the ice circuit as a special stage.

Entry is $500 CDN
There is $12,000 available to win.
J-F says all cars starting will get the fee returned.
16 tires included - you can not keep them.
There will be a spec racing fuel there at "normal" price.

Last year, the cars were seeded by times in practice.
Cars left in 5 second intervals.
The cars had transponders that proved to be very reliable if mounted correctly.
Last year, you counted the best (# - 5 or 10) times in the allotted time of the session, this may have changed.
Indoor paddock with heat.
Two TV crews, 20,000 fans and motorcycles with spikes that go twice as fast as the cars.

This year I'll get my butt kicked.

Some great pictures on Andrew Harvey's website as well as a video on our website in the downloads section.

The amount of seat time on the lowest grip surface out there is incredible! It did a lot for my snow/ice driving.

The beautiful thing about the event is that you actually have a heated paddock area indoors and can have dinner at a reasonable hour. It's all very civilized. ;-)

Cheers! John
