The Cadillac Forest Rally (Sat. Sept 13 in Cadillac Michigan)
is still open for entries- the deadline to save $50.00 for early entry is Sept 1st so plan ahead.
This event has 11 stages and will sample a number of different types of road surfaces - So it will be a great place to learn (or teach) road reading skills!

We also need workers and will provide dinner (in a nice wooded setting), as well as a CFR T-Shirt and of course after rally Pizza.

Please visit the website for more info at http://www.webstratum.com/cadillacrally/

Hope to see you there

The registrar has emailed entriants to confirm she has recieved their check.

Workers should check the website next week when we will post a meeting time and location (and perhaps a list of survival gear)-
If you have any questions you can e-mail Bill Westrick - his address is on the website under workers.
Be there or be square

road...reading....skills....??? What do you mean?? Is this that blind tulip rally crap with no notes??? That's just crazy! How are we supposed to get down the road? What will the codrivers do? What happens when we get to a turn and we don't know how tight it is, or what's over the next crest? I can't take it! I wan't my money back! Noooooooo...........

Um sorry, just going through stage note withdrawl. All will be well about 1 mile into the first stage. :)

So Kim is flying up from Missouri to do nothing except keep the right side wheels from getting airborne? Of course maybe he still remembers these stages from thirty years ago.

RE: CFR - Road types

Can anyone say what the roads will be like ?
Any comparisons to UP roads or Minnesota roads ?
Should I bring my mostly worn Michelins or the mostly worn Michelins ?

RE: CFR - Road types

Well there was about 2" of snow there this morning so.....
JUST KIDDING
It's Michigan - bring EVERYTHING, It is not unlike LSPR on Friday
- but like I said, road surface changes a lot.
There's a nice sandy beach also...too bad a stage runs thru it.

RE: CFR - Road types

The early entry for CFR has been extended one day because of the Labor day holiday - Entry checks must be postmarked by Sept. 2nd .
After that entry fee goes up $50.00

The preceding messages have been a delightful reminder of why Judy and I have been coming back to the woods for so long. Thank you all for the 'fresh air".

CFR - Northern Lights?

According to MapQuest Cadillac is pretty close to Houghton Lake ... any chance ya'all will be running over roads like this:

That was shot at the 1982 NLPR press stage - the same year Eric Zenz barrel-rolled his Saab. Ty Holmquist was my codriver and that event was the only one my High School driver's ed instructor (the late Paul Craft) ever went to watch one of his students race.

I will be contacting specific people directly over the next few days. Best bet is to arrive early. If you have signed up on the web page, I will have assignments available by Friday registration. If you are signed up and know ahead of time if you will be sharing a vehicle or wish to work with a specific person, please contact me directy as I will take that into consideration.
