All of you shaken by the recent news from the SCCA board, just remember that Canada holds rally's all-year-long. With no sorry excuse of crowd, or insurance problems.

The issue is log-booking. For how long with CARS allow SCCA log booked cars to compete? What about annual techs?

But yeah, rallying is going gangbusters in Canada.
Pace notes even!!!!!!!!!!

(by the way- come november 7th you may want to leave the country anyway! )

Yea!... we sure don't want those F'ing lawyers running the country.

Insurance will be imposible to get for everything except knitting.

Land use permits for forest rally, not a chance.

With all this talk about defecting to Canada,
please take notice that we have had a successful
NASA Rally Sport rally program right here in the United
States, which will expand in 2005.

In my 30+ years of this I've never had the privilege of running in Canada. Not that I haven't wanted to, the opportunity has not presented itself (remember I'm a co-driver rally-ho!).

But does anyone really think that all the work organizers put into rallies in the US is just going to come to a screeching halt? Do you think there will be no Sno*Drift? Oregon? Rim? STPR? Cog? 100 Acre Wood? To some degree organizers are addicted to what they do as much as drivers.

Enter US rallies! Vote with your entry fees. Not entering rallies is a faster way to kill the sport here than anything the SCCA BoD can do. There are talented people ready to jump in and see this through. This is positive transition, folks, not death.

And I still want to run Canadian events! I'm hoping Tall Pines.

USA *and* Canada, not USA *or* Canada

Kim makes an excellent point. Now more than ever we need to support USA organizers. Remember how successful Gorman Ridge was a year when NASA stepped up after SCCA suspended all rallies? That's the kind of support the organizers, R-A, et al will need to grow the sport and this junction in history.

I still want to race in Canada too, however!

I'll rally in Canada and the US, the country doesn't really matter, just having the venue. Wherever it's allowed...;)

Does P4 require restrictors? Standalones? Just getting those gears turning..

Hey rslegacy,
Just make it through Mt. Hood first.. One rally at a time...:D
THEN CANADA!!!:p
