Though it looks like Pasi Hagstrom had some road penalties that dropped him from the lead to 3rd place at LSPR, Subaru has had a pretty good weekend.

Just in case anyone has been sleeping under a rock, Petter Solberg almost destroyed his car during shakedown for the Rallye de France. His mechanics spent Thursday night squishing the remains back into shape and he followed up a conservative performance on Friday with some good luck, good tires, and hard driving on Saturday to take the lead. With hard driving making up for, according to insider speculation, a declining advantage on Sunday's drier roads, he wrapped up the rally over 30 seconds clear of his closest challenger.

Markko Martin and Sebastian Loeb both suffered from spins and other mistakes (the crunchy kind) to take them out of their respective leads. At the end of Saturday, Martin was five minutes back, Loeb a full ten minutes behind Solberg. Before crashing out, Martin was over six minutes behind the leaders. Though Loeb spent Sunday schooling the rest of the field with stage wins, he still finished the rally over nine minutes back.

Carlos Sainz finished second after overtaking Duval on the last stage. This puts him in the championship lead, just 3 points ahead of Solberg and Burns.

Is there any word yet on details of Pat Richard's problems?
