Luckily, I used one touch record for OTPR on Speed last night instead of setting the timer (still haven't watched it). Anyone else think the winner of that sprint car race looked an awfull lot like Mad Mike }>

Jeez - I've been called a lot of things in my life ...

That's just hitting below the belt, Don. Call me a drag racer and I'm phoning my buddy Guido ...

We fired up the Mother of All TV's last night a little early to make sure we wouldn't miss any great rally coverage (hey, where did all the Production cars go????), and got to see a sprint car race.

What was up with that? We spent the time yelling at the TV something along the lines of "two laps to go? That'll take two hours at this rate!" and "Don't interview the winner! Cut to the rally!" and "Boo! He didn't change hats enough!" and "This race literally goes around in a big circle! Boring!"

It was entertaining, but the rally was better. :) Poignant, almost, at times. :) That doesn't spoil it for ya, does it? :)

Oh, and how many Tabors could you see? I'll give you a hint: none in competition, because we ran P-class! :) I saw Mark, at least his back and head in the crowd around the Rally America truck (he's a tall kid, with a faded red dirt shirt and Silverstone hat). I saw Dad, directing traffic in the Vernonia service area... and I saw John Elkin in the Tillamook service area... He counts as a Tabor, right?? :)

They should have showed Al Kintigh zipping up and down in the service area on the little mini bike... from the in time control all the way back down to the Rally America truck on the other end of service Sunday. Who's got those pictures? Classic!!!

Daphne-

For those of us who are currently Tivo deprived - did it work last night? In other words, when a program does NOT start on time, does Tivo automatically compensate (do you just tell it the program, or also the length)? Did you get the whole hour?

press on,

jimmy

Unfortunately, Tivo works off of the printed show schedule. When SpeedTV runs late, Tivo doesn't know about it.

So yes, I ended up with 10 minutes of Mad Mike's twin brother racing.

You can tell Tivo to "pad" a show at the beginning and/or end. Guess I need to do that from now on.

Luckily I decided to watch the beginning of the show to see the tribute the Mark and Roger. I saw it was going to start late so I added 30 minutes to the end of my DVR setting. Another fine job I must say. The tribute was very touching.
